Always surprising and a delight to feel that rush of relief. My husband says that I always sleep so well the night after my doctors appointment. He looked at the sore under my tongue and said it's a traumatic ulcer. He told me if it gets bigger to come in but other then that he would see me in two months. He also told me (deep breath) NO MORE CHOCOLATE! I just stared at him for about 30 seconds, not believing what I had just heard, lol. He is a really personable guy. He's attending what he called "possibly the largest conference for ENT's to date" in New York this weekend and he said "lot's of the TOP "booger pickers" in the country will be there". He always makes me laugh when I see him. He wants to start a local support group for Head and Neck Cancer and asked me if he supplied the patients if I would work on getting it going..............of course I said sure I will and added one more thing to my agenda. I love a full agenda, makes me feel so ALIVE. Take care, Minnie

What's a 'traumatic ulcer' and why no chocolate? Does it affect the tissue? What about the celebration cake? Will it have to be strawberry? And what about those Krispy Kremes you're so fond of? You and your family deserve the best news, love from Helen

In my case it was caused by me being a total glutton with Hersey's Hugs. I have one of those obssesive personalities that doesn't allow me to "eat just one". So...........no more chocolates! Now, the Krispy Kremes are a whole different story. These are soft and cannot cause injury to my mouth..........I just finished eating two of them. I agree, my family deserves this good news. It is an unparalled feeling for me when I get to call them, one by one, when I leave the doctors. Only one goes with me, the rest hold their breath at home. They have been through so much with all of this. Kris, thanks for the toast and I, too, hope there are many more of them. Minnie

You had me scared for a minute. I was afraid that chocolate had suddenly become a carcinogen too. I find if I eat Hershey's dark chocolate kisses or bars, I have to have them with milk or better yet lukewarm black coffee. Helps to melt them 'cause they stick to my teeth. Chocolate cake and chocolate mousse are easier to get down, but not any help on a drive to Maine.
Glad to hear your checkup came out A-OK. Keep an eye on it.
Take care, Eileen

Congrats on the thumbs up! My mom just had her appointment with the ENT yesterday and he gave her a thumbs up too. He told her that she can tell her two daughters that she is healing nicely and that everything looks really good! My mom was in really high spirits yesterday and that always makes me breathe a huge sigh of relief. She had gone to the radiation doctor the day before and she gave her a really hard time because she has not gained any weight. She wants to see her in two weeks and she better have gained a few pounds. I keep trying to get her to eat Krispy Creme doughnuts but she told my sister she likes being thin...so we have to really get on her case about eating.
I'm not going to be able to go to Vegas and I'm really bummed. It's Keeley's first birthday on the 25th of September and we are having a huge party. I will miss you all....
Dani
