My sister is almost 5 months post radiation for cancer of tonsils. She got her check-up amonth ago and the radiation was successful. However today she was very down due to mouth sores. Why and how long should she expect to have these and does anyone have a suggestion of what would ease the pain? Thank You.

Molly,

Has your sister tried Lidocaine? My mother has used it for a burned tongue. It doesn't last very long but it does provide some relief. It is a very viscous liquid - my mother would dab it on.

Cynthia
