My father has cancer on his tongue. He has surgery(partial removal for tongue) and radiation treatment. His cancer has come back. The doctors want to remove his tongue. There is no other treatment option. Has anyone else been told this?

My husband was told the same thing, actually, on biopsy, part fell off, post radiation..........his new tongue is rebuilt chest muscle...............so, yes, docs do tell you that, and it does work..............

Your welcome, I don`t know if anyone else on the site has had total removal of jawbone, tongue and larnyx, my husband has had very few problems with recovery....he`s has a feeding tube, but has managed to go from 118 pounds in Nov. to 142 pounds now........after next surgery he will be able to eat again,any other questions, let me know
