Hello Everyone!
Time for an update on the walk that is taking place on April 9th in Chesapeake, Virginia. I'm very, very excited about it and hope many of you can be there to share in it's success.
The walk will take place at Chesapeake City Park, a 75 acre park that is one of Chesapeakes most popular areas. We have the Eastern Virginia Medical School handling the publicity for us and we are working on having the most popular local radio station attend the event for live broadcasts throughout the day. We will have demonstrations from local cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics groups. We will have vendors there for food and also other booths selling items. We will have qualified medical professionals there to give free oral screenings throughout the day.
Our sponsors are growing by the day. We have on board so far Eastern Virginia Medical School, the Medical College of Virginias School of Dentistry, IHOP, Vizilite, Oral CDX and other local businesses. Thats not counting any dentist offices we will get sponsorship from. I just mailed out awesome looking "save the date" postcards that look just like the event poster itself, just smaller and targeted at the dental community. I'm hoping to have loads of dental office teams there walking to support our cause. Brian, even with all he has to do in a days time, has been my guiding force, keeping me moving and helping get it all done.
I have a gut feeling this event will be a smashing success and I'm excited about it. I hope to see some of you there!

Am new to this board - but have just moved to brisbane and discovered no cancer survivor groups up here - so am starting one up - think the thought of an oral cancer walk is awesome and just may see what sort of takers we can get from here for next year - judging by the amount of people i saw at the hospital the other day OC is definately on the rise here.
Hope it all goes really well for you and will talk to you soon about maybe aus getting involved. Anybody from aus would love to hear from you and maybe we can do something positive like this too-especially brisbane.
