My sister had many of the same issues listed above. She was using ativan, decadron, zofran, and compazine for the nausea and vomiting. Even the zofran, which is very expensive and was suppose to be effective didn't help much to alleviate the nausea. When she decided to discontinue the amifostine shots after 3 weeks, her vomiting stopped after the radiation treatment. Later when the cancer returned she used medical marajuana (tincture (drop form) and vaporizing it) and it seemed to help. She refused to inhale it, as she had never used drugs, before being hit with this cancer. If your mom has tried all the above prescribed drugs, maybe phenergan might do the trick. It made my sister hallucinate and she was really out of it and goofy...didn't like it, so we cut the dosage way down, but it seem to help with the vomiting. Some patients take it with benedryl, it helps reduce the side effects. Good luck on finding the right meds and controlling the side effects. Just hang in there because the treatment does end and then the healing begins. Best of luck and your in my thoughts.
