Deano,
I did not have a feeding tube. The biggest thing I would have done different is to have had one inserted before I got so sick that I couldn't get one. I lost forty pounds in a little over two weeks. I was so weak that they were concerned about inserting one at that point.

I also wish I would have done a better job of documenting the entire journey.

Stay strong and try not to focus on "percentile survival rates." Focus on beating this!

Deano, Hi laugh ! I will say you are at one of the top Cancer Treatment Centers there is, in the United States, so that in itself is good. I also went to MD Anderson, and i cant think of one thing that was bad there ( Ok, im lying, the time you have to wait for your appts.) haha, im sure you have already experienced that for yourself! But besides that, you will receive great care and great assistance! The only thing i wish i would have done, is the Peg Tube alot sooner than i did, i waited until my last 2 weeks of Rad. and lost 45lbs. and ended up in the hospital 4 times, due to dehydration!!! Tell them, NOW you want the tube and just dont start to use it, until you need it, which will be around the last 3 weeks, if your like i am. But of course everyone is different, but to be safe, get the Peg Tube, trust me on that, plus loosing that much weight that fast, not only kicks your butt, but makes healing time longer due to the weakness and the bad condition your body is in. Ohhhh, and another thing, EAT,EAT,EAT now, everything you love, cause soon, you will start to lose your taste and that can get a little depressing,(you dont realize how important food (taste) becomes until you dont have it! Well, just hang in there, and it will be over sooner than you think...Let this time be ALL ABOUT YOU laugh and take it easy, rest, and keep your skin moisturized(Biafine) and keep good oral hygine, thats very important! Best of Luck, let us know how you are doing.
