Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,384 Likes: 1 | Happy to hear you are moving forward! I know you have 2 thoughts (at least) on the tube, my strong suggestion is to trust your doctor. The less holes they make in you the better!  My oncologist never mentioned the tube option, and I am happy I did not get one. I was not overweight to begin with. Yes eating is likely to become a major chore but this is your new job. If you would like some eating ideas, send me a note. Take care.
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
