Okay all you you posters who had the semi glossectomy with the forearm flap with the graft from the thigh..... when does the graft sight on the thigh finally heal? It is driving me crazy! It stings so bad. The surgeon finally took the dressing off a week ago but it's still looking kinda oozy. Shouldn't it be drying up and scabbing soon? It takes all the joy out of a nice hot shower. My surgery was March 18th.

Cathy you have a long wait yet. Mine was done just over a year ago and it is still is bright red and gets very itchy at times.
I was told to get some Vitamin E Oil and apply that to it. It helped heal it over much faster than when I wasn't using it. I still use that today on all my scars.

My surgery was 2/26/04 & the last bit of scab fell off a couple weeks ago. Still itches but it is healing faster than I ever thought it would. I remember it sticking to the bed sheets, my pants, anything it came in contact with & ripping the new scab off & bleeding . Of course you know all that. Just reminiscing!! ah! Little did I know I would get new & different things to have fun with 3-4 weeks into radiation. Thats another story all together.
