I'm wondering if the chemotherapy treatments will cause me to lose my hair. (A little bit vain, I know, but I like my hair. smile ) I don't know yet what drugs or how often I will have treatment. What have your experiences been?

I think I am safe in reporting that you will suffer some degree of hair loss but too early to tell how much. The loss will depend on exactly which regimen/chemicals are used in your treatment as some cause more hair loss than others. For instance, I was originally treated with Cisplatin and was told that it did not cause hair loss. I was unable to continue with it as it caused ringing in my ears and my regimen was changed to Carboplatin and Toxol. One of those two, I forgot which one, caused mild loss on the back of my head just above my neck.

Aimee,

I had Cis and rad and I lost all of the wiskers below my chin due to the rad and I lost all the hair on the back of my neck also due to rad where it exited. I was told my chemo would not result in any hair loss. I have regained my hair on the back of my neck but I will never have to shave below my chin again. That's a good thing.
