it's been 3 years since my surgery,so i'm probally going to keep this feeling,it bothers me real bad when it's hot out.i've told my doc about it but has really never said anything about it,other than that i can't complain i'm doing pretty good.thank you for the info because i will try thay and hopfully it will help

At this point, massage might or might not help, but it can not hurt anything. You are long-ago healed, and you can't interfere with that by vigorous massage. Maybe you can loosen up the scar tissue a little. Also, stretch your neck in every way possible, especially by tilting your head back and stretching your neck skin by pulling your chin up and down.

Perhaps a professional would give you more specific instructions, but I am only a bit more than a year past surgery, and I have been massaging for a long time. It's still a bit tight, but I have lost that strangling feeling!!
