Congratulations! I'm curious, how long did it take to get in? They have denied my brother twice now, we are hoping the third time is charm and will try again after a re-evaluation from his current doctors.
Again, I am so excited for you and the peace that knowing you are in the best hands brings.

Mom's caregvr. DDS failed to dx 01/03. Dx Stg IV SCC 05/03. Induct. chemo, IMRT, 5FU, H, Iressa, Neck disect, radiation. Dad's caregvr. Dx 01/04 Ext. Stg SCLC. Mets to liver/bone 08/04. Died 11/12/04. Mom tongue CA dx 06/13, hemiglossectomy (80% removed) 08/13. Clean margins and nodes, but PNI. 6/15/15: Tongue CA at base of remnant tongue. Declined further tx; hospice.
Died 10/13/15. What a long and difficult journey.

I must say the world works in funny ways...up here in Canada I had an H & N surgeon (by the name of Anderson)...he also did an excellent job..I wasnt crazy about bedside manner but thats small potatoes compared to the raves about my surgery & many others done by him...long story short-my cable guy came to re-install my internet today & he is having surgery by the same guy on Monday!! I wished him & also you the best of luck & we joked about our "second smiles" we would be getting on our necks! Hope the name is magical for you also!
