I'll be getting into Vegas on Thursday some time, probably later in the afternoon. I've already e-mailed with my phone number. Finally stateside in LA, and My first US gormet meal? Those mini-cheeseburgers at Denny's they have now. Go figure.

By the way, we're up to 27 people, not too bad for a cheap date.

Hi all-

Don & I are arriving on Friday afternoon...after finishing up with scheduled dentist appointment for Don. We are not staying at the Imperial Palace...I called to make reservations too late. Anyhow, I am really really excited about meeting everyone. Don is a little anxious because he only knows you all from reading the postings I've printed out for him...he still hasn't developed the nerve to learn the computer. Anyhow, I'll try reaching you guys as soon as we arrive. I know you'll make Don feel welcome. I truly feel this will be a wonderful trip for us.

See ya there...in jeans & t-shirts.

Lorie

I had so wished to join you all... but have so much travel going on from Oct-December that I couldn't quite work this out. I do look forward to future meetings, and will be there with bells on!

We are attending a BOA (Bands of America) Super Regional with DD's marching band the weekend of October 15th in St. Louis. Go Red and Silver Brigade! Very exciting as Whitney is a founding member of the band, Blue Valley West High School opened her freshman year, and they have gone from 65 members to 135 in four years. They will be going up against the big boys! and her last year of marching band, very sad for mom and dad frown .

The next weekend Chris and I fly to Orlando, look at housing, then drive to Ft. Lauderdale for our cruise. laugh In December, the whole family is flying to Ft. Lauderdale to cruise for Christmas week. laugh Can you tell we are celebrating survivorship this year?!?

We tried to budget in the OCF trip... maybe next year we could do Florida? DH is a budding travel agent and could maybe work some magic for us!

Have a great time and I hope to see pictures posted!

Sincerely,
Lisa

Lisa, I grew up in St. Louis, haven't been there for several years but still keep track of things. (GO RAMS) (STL was on the short list for a few minutes of places to have this shindig.) If you need some suggestions of some "traditional" St. Louis fare, let me know.

Celebrateing survivorship is the way it should be. Being thankful for the time we have left, it's precious short even without this disease.

So guys, what are your wives packing for Saturday?

I had planned on packing a dress or black pant suit for Saturday, shorts for daytime and slacks for evening. I had also planned on bringing dress slacks, shirt and sport jacket for hubby but if everyone is going to be in dungarees on Saturday night, I'll at least leave the jacket at home. He'll be in jeans the rest of the time and maybe Saturday also if all the rest of you are.

Well this woman is taking capris for Friday and Saturday with kind of slinky black slacks for Saturday night. Telling my husband to leave the jacket home and wear comfortable khaki's and maybe that Hawaiian look for Saturday night and he is definitely the shorts guy the rest of the time. Looking forward to seeing everyone! We'll be in about 3 pm on Friday. - Kris

I've been waiting to post this, but I guess I need to 'fess up. As much as I wanted to, I won't be in Vegas either. I really wanted to meet all of you in person and I had hoped to make a motorcycle trip out of it, but I just can't shake lose the cash needed for the trip. I hope all of you that are going have an absolutely wonderful time! Maybe someone will hit a jackpot! Hope so...

Ok....I'm a little envious frown Wish Tom and I could be there, too. Sounds like too much fun (water toasts and all...!)
MARK - I think a Vegas shirt has LOTS of sequins, preferably depicting Elvis or dollar signs......some of them even have flashing lights!

Enjoy, enjoy - and share it all with the rest of us next week!
Love to each of you, and prayers for safe travels.
