I have hiccups so bad it's killing me. I've tried breathing into a bag, holding my breathe, etc. and they just won't stop. They gave me Demoxathone which is a corticosteroid notorious for causing hiccups. If I live through the night I'm calling the advice nurse first thing in the morning.

Hi Gary!
The family story is that I was born hiccupping, and I certainly do a lot of it. The ONLY cure I have found which is 100% reliable is to eat some sugar. I keep a couple of packets in my purse for this reason. Over the years I have tried every other cure suggested, and this is the only one that works. Why? I have no idea. Tried it with salt once, and that worked too, but was much harder to swallow (grin).

Gary,
John never got hiccups until he began his chemo and radiation. Every time he had chemo. he would get the hiccups for a couple days. He has not had them since.

I am so glad to know I'm not the only one this happened to. My hiccups are not as bad as they were a year ago but I still get them and they go on and on and on .... The docs haven't really given me any insight so I've just tried to put up with it.
