Ok I have a question..2 weeks ago I had a biopsy on the right side of my tongue , and it was benign , yet if left untreated would turn to SCC.

My question is ,I have a Pimple like thing there now, it is filled with a pus ( i know gross) I don't know if this is a normal part of healing or do I need to have it checked? It was just biopsied !

Sharlee - without seeing it, it's hard to say for sure, but it may be nothing. I had a biopsy almost 2 weeks ago (part of the clinical trial protocol I am on) and it looks kind of like that - round and yellowish, but that's just the normal way that a bx of the tongue granulates and heals. It's also still a little sore at times... But if it's really worrying you, you should probably have it checked for peace of mind.

Shar,

Sounds like you might have an infection in the area of the biopsy. You should go back to whoever did the biopsy to get it checked out.

Ginny -
I noticed in your profile, you mentioned that you started a "phase III clinical trial for prevention of recurrence" in April. Where are you participating in this trial, how did you hear about it, and what are they doing for you? Thank you for info about this trial.
Warmly, JaneP smile

Ginny,

Not to put to fine a point on it but one reason we come to this board is to get educated on treatments, experiences, clinical trials etc...

Is there a reason you won't share with the public?

Tim- There is absolutely not a reason I won't share, but I have actually already posted on this and I was afraid I would bore people who have already read my postings on it - I just didn't want to repeat myself, or hijack Sharlee's topic!

My postings on this are in the General Board, under the Topic "Should I participate in a clinical trial" and dated March 21.... Please let me know if you can't find this, or have any other questions - I am happy to share. I have just passed Month 3 of the protocol.

Ginny,

Thanks for the guide to your previous post. I apologize if you feel as though I accused you of not sharing, that certainly wasn't my intent.

Tim - no problem at all, I didn't think you were accusing me, I just wanted you and others to know why I didn't post the information again. I am happy to answer any other questions anyone has about this trial.
