I am wondering if any of you would mind sharing your stories about how you were diagnosed with cancer (symptoms, tests that didn't catch it and the one that did, ect.)and how long it took to be diagnosed after seeing a doctor? Maybe even how many doctors it took? Thank you.

I am sorry if I sound a little harsh but please don't ask us to continue to feed your hypochondria. You have been hanging around here now for 4 months and they haven't found anything. So get a grip, see a therapist, get some help and move on. If this subject really interests you, do a search in the archives and plenty of stories will pop up.

Gary is right, you need to get help for your obsession about oral cancer. A psychiatrist can help you figure out why the obession and how to deal with it. My mother developed an obession with cancer, became convinced she had it. She didn't. She died of pneumonia and the autopsy (requested by my grandmother, her mother) revealed that she had no cancer. It was all in her mind. You remind me of her in your obession with oral cancer. Like Gary, I don't mean to be cruel but you are one of the lucky ones, you don't have oral cancer. Cherish that finding & seek help for your obession. Good luck!

Man, I'll tell ya. If ya dont have it, dont worry. Their is an old saying around here. It aint cancer until they say it is. I would kill to be in your postion right now.

I am getting the feeling you are trying to write a book or something and are sponging off of us to get information.

If not, go see a shrink ya nut.

There, someone had to say it.

I have to agree with the other people who responded to you. You need to get medical help, but you need psychiatric help. As the Nike commercials say...."just do it"! For yourself and your family, get help.

Best of luck,

Shelley
