Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | I'm up to 400mg of Diflucan a day and still have many problems with thrush. The nurse's aid recommended yogurt w/acidolpholis in it - let it sit in your mouth. Drinking sugary drinks exacerbates it - like cokes or chocolate, I have switched to cranberry juice diluted w/soda and a squeeze of fresh lemon (at least as much as I can tolerate). Thanks for the tip on that site - I'm going to check it out.

Just an update on my ongoing battle with thrush. I saw the doctor today (my 2nd, 6 week checkup)and the 400mg of Diflucan is not working. Evidently I have built up a resistance to it. I have ulcerations that just won't heal. They're putting me on a 5-6 times a day Nystatin swish and swallow to see if that will work.
They also ordered a chest xray. Other than the thrush, I'm healing very well and they have no other "areas of concern" at the moment. I will see 2 more doctors next week for their 6 week checkups (Head & Neck and Oncologist).
