Miss,Colleen
My mom had something like that happen when we evacuated. except instaed of dropping it she placed it in her mouth wrong and it got STUCK.
O.K. so she was brand new to this whole thing and she was in a strange place and it really was the pits and well she freaked out. My dad got it out and she got it back in alright but I will never forget how scared she got to do her teeth for about I guess a couple of months afterwards. She would get so scared that her mouth would get to tight to even get it out. I taught her some yoga but I really dont know if they helped or if she was just humoring me. In the end she just had to see that it was okay and that she could trust herself to do it correctly. I guess that really didnt have anything to do with your story but we had been talking about it just tonight and I thought of that when I read your story. I dont really know why but for some reason I fell better just writing about it if you know what I mean. I apoligize for rambling but it has been one of those rambling days. I cant wait to meet you face to face and I know that my mom feels the same. Please tell me how your app. goes and remember you will be in my thoughts good luck.
Sincerly

Dragon,

Reading your experiences makes me very happy to know that there are people out there who are bigger than life itself. You most certainly one of them.

Sometimes we sit and read and marvel at the strength and treasures of others but on this day I have to say I truly have crossed paths with someone that, as Frank says, is bigger than life. I know in my heart that Dragon, you are who you are partly because of your mother but I see the greatness in what you will contribute to our entire society all the days of your life! Your mother has given you an amazing legacy to carry on and you are doing so with great conviction. You will always be a quiet and humble leader of people. I hope whatever you become in life as an older person, you set your sights and goals high because I know the wisdom you possess at your age is nothing compared to what you can accomplish in your lifetime.

You go girl!

Thank you so much. I started posting on here on a whim and I am so glad I did. I think I didnt even know just how much I really needed someone to say the things that so many people have said to tell me that I am ok and that I can continue doing ok. So thank you so much and please remember that you have said something today to shed a little light on someones day thank you.

Wonderful post. I'm deeply touched. I was about your age when my mother was sick with the same thing. How horrible that you had that massive hurricane to also cope with.

Be sure that you have someone to talk to about all this stress....even if you need to see a therapist. I didn't realize the toll it took on me.

And if you haven't done so already, I hope you will consider the Gardisil (sp?) shots.

Wow - crazy story.. so glad your mom is doing better. It sounds to me like she didn't have any radiation or chemo as follow up. This is good in one way (less fall out symptoms) but also something to keep an eye on. She needs to be very very diligent with her mouth. If she spots even the smallest thing that seems abnormal, or a lump in her neck she needs to get back to her dr. immediately. Hugs and best of luck, you are an awesome daughter and your mom is lucky to have you.
