He was very nice about me wanting a 2nd opinion. He told me he was in total agreemnet and even gave me the name of a DR at the cancer Center at Ohio State. It turns out he's the head Dr there and very knowledgeable. I called my PCP and things have started to progress. I haven't heard if my ins. has approved the referral yet, but I have a positive feeling. Thanks to all who set me straight in my thinking. I hurt so bad I can hardly swallow and seem to "slobber" all the time. " need a bib".If it wasn't for pain pills, it sure would be tough right now. Have a great day all and ggod luck to everyone. EzJim

He has had the surgery and still faces upcoming radiation. We have had a tough time due to heart problems, but every day gets better. His pain was so severe that the pain pills were not cutting it any more. The doctor said with his type of cancer the pain is so bad that once the patient has surgery the pain from the surgery is nothing compared to the pain they felt before. Dad says the surgeon was right! Please don't give up. Keep chugging forward. For us, some day's are better than others and on the bad day's we just float. We still are facing radiation, and dad is determined that he is going to fight. With a PMA and a good support network you can get thru this. Hugs, Joy P.S. My dad's name is Jim too
