I’ve hit a wall. I’m in Southern California and need an extremely talented top in their field oral oncology surgeon for a complex set of extractions and much more. Does anyone know someone like this anywhere? I’ll travel worldwide for the best. Thank you!!

I can't name someone specifically to send you to. But as you well know, its important to see someone that understands the issues that you might have because of your treatments. While traveling to see someone talented seems a good idea, I'd like to have someone that in the first month after the surgery could easily see me to follow up or deal with anything that wasn't behaving as expected. That would be tough if you traveled out of state to do this. There's a lot of good oral surgeons in SoCal, so you likely don't need to go far to find someone that has the right background, and this isn't complicated to do. But it could get complicated if your body decides not to heal up properly. Picking an oral surgeon at UCLA that is tied to the cancer center might be a thought.

Thanks. Still trying to get in to see someone but my dentist is worried about an area in the root of #15 that’a showing a radio luminosity with a possible lesion she’s saying is suspicious for cancer, and finally is suggesting I seek a biopsy after chasing this for 3 months. So. Yeah. Now worried about cancer and given the swollen node in my jaw for 3+ months despite 4 courses of antibiotics— I am concerned for something sinister.

The node(s?) in my neck and under my jaw are getting more tender and bothersome.

I still have pain and discomfort in my teeth on the L side which varies between a 0 to a 3.5 but is usually around a 1.

I think I have a sore on my tongue (like a recurring canker sore) but I think it comes and goes and maybe I’m biting it every once in a while due to changes in my mouth.

The node is worrisome and it seems to be tender and swollen for almost 3-4 months.

I’m starting to melt down.

Trying to get in for a biopsy but soonest anywhere is serval days away.

I don’t feel well at all.
