I've just finished week 5 of 7 RT. I've not used my G-Tube in over 2 weeks. I'm eating some foods and trying to be more adventurous and challenge my swallow so that it remains strong.
However there are times when I'm I'm drinking a liquid, it could be warm tea or water, where I 'forget' how to swallow. I then hold the liquid as I don't know what to do and then I choke or have to spit out the liquid.
It could be that I'm tired, it's chemo week and I'm feeling very tired this week.
I don't think it's it's dysphagia as I can usually drink and I'm good with swallowing, it's just as if my throat says 'nope' and so closes.

Any advice would be great

Wow Dizz. Week 5 already! Approaching the goal line there lady. Your such a fighter. The swallowing issue sounds like a fatigue thing to me too. It maybe a timing thing where your swallowing muscles are fatigued too and you got to give them time to get ready to do their job. Rest well my friend. Hugs.

I think you're right. When I slow down (like real slow), I don't seem to have a problem.

Only 7 fractions left. I will be dancing (ish) on Halloween when my last fraction is complete. I'm really treating the trick or treaters this year! I may not be able to have the candy, but they sure can laugh

My throat is on fire so it's cool drinks all the way. Just a shame it's 44f outside...brrrrr. I had to grab a small frappucino after todays session. I think this will be a plan for the remaining rads.
