Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 15 | I was just referred for a biopsy for a mass just out of view on the back of my tongue. Not being one to sit still very long, my question is whether you would get the biopsy/removal done locally by my ENT or wait a few days longer to have it done at MD Anderson? Getting CT this afternoon.
I already have my initial appt at MDA for next Tuesday and they seemed to act as if they would act quickly.

MD Anderson. I am here now and the treatment is second to none. Wish I had had my original surgery here. I’m sure things would have been much different for the better.

Although I’m sure your local doctors are quite capable, I would go to MD Anderson myself, if needed, which is the number one cancer center in the country, according to U.S. News Report, and they are member hospital with the NCCN, and NCI. High volume hospitals, and in cancer, also have better survival and prognosis rates.
A few days wait isn’t too long, and you can call MD Anderson to see if there are any sooner appointments.
