My husband has a clearly visible residual node. Trying to remain positive and calm. Appreciate your good thoughts. He cooked for the first time in half a year this weekend and actually ate one rib and one spoon of potatoes. All his idea. He was able to go to the store without having to leave because of the smells, Progress!!!!!! Plus we have invested in an amazing blender and if we get the NED results we are hoping for after the PET we are going to start moving toward getting the PEG out using blender power. He's appreciative that VHC Boost has kept him alive but he is so over that being his primary diet. It is a big week at our house. They said one week for results.

NED at this time. The residual node appears to be necrotic, so to those of you with scary nodes post treatment they can be cancer free. Something is in the lung but they repeatedly said not cancer. Arranging follow up for that issue. Plus he ate at a restaurant. Ordered food and ate it. I kinda wanted to cry. If you have followed my posts here, my husband, even with a PEG has had difficulty maintaining his weight and any return to eating by mouth has been painfully slow and difficult. Thank you Vitamix, he has maintained his weight for a month. No surgery at this time! Victory there. A good, good day. We know what the future might hold but we are just enjoying today. A LOT! Thank you to everyone on this site that has encouraged and informed us throughout this process. Bless you for taking the time and effort.

The road to recovery can be a bumpy one. Continue to take heart with the little progressions because for us they are BIG deals. The night we got my first clear PET results we went out to a restaurant for the first time. I ordered the cold seafood tower and ate the whole thing. My wife was amazed!
Keep up the great work and stay positive. It gets better!

I would love to eat at a restaurant but for now it's chicken soup, cottage cheese and soggy puffed rice! | | | | Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 2 Member | Member Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 2 | So glad you are able to eat again. I am 100% feeding tube dependent and go to restaurants to be with the others while they eat. | | |
