Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Johnnie, I dont think I mentioned if you are going to do HBO you may first need to have tube put in your ears. One facility I went to required all patients to have this done prior to starting their sessions. Its not a big procedure. Its outpatient surgery with some ENTs doing it right there in their office. The only inconvenience I had with having the tubes in my ears was needing to always use ear plugs when I would take a shower. To me, having the tubes put in was one of the easiest things Ive done. After going thru rads, chemo and several surgeries I went thru so many worse things than getting the tubes. If your doc doesnt mention the tubes, ask if you will need them.

Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 18 | I have had 40 hyperbaric treatments and I am on IV antibiotics (Ivanz). This is my forth week of IV. The infectious disease doctor said that most of his patients with bone infections are completely cleared in 3 weeks. Subjectively, I still have an issue because when I open my mouth wide, I have pain. With other rounds of antibiotics, (through my gtube)-at the end of the round of antibiotics, my jaw had pain upon opening. Has anyone had experience with this or another antibiotic that is more effective? My bone scan showed probable osteomyletis of the jaw. I would appreciate any and all suggestions. My infectious disease doctor is nice but really not interested.
