Tongue Cancer 1/2 tongue removed, replaced by flap from forearm. April 15, 2014 neck disection, 1 lympnode involved, doctors removed all to make sure cancer is gone. 30 rad treatments and 2 cisplatin chemo, doctor said I did not need the third one. Finished up July 30,2014 Chemo treatment was my choice. The board felt surgery and radiation was plenty to take care of my cancer. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 61 Supporting Member (50+ posts) | OP Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 61 | Thanks. I have a question about my teeth and cheeks. Before radiation I had 6 teeth pulled. All in back. After my treatments, basically the last few days. There are bumps on my cheeks, both sides. I think I am suckung them in where my teeth are missing and its causing this. Does this sound correct? Or could it still be the radiation working, or caused by radiation.

If not, you should. Hard to say from here but you should be getting your teeth cleaned quarterly for a while by someone that has experience with oral cancer.

I have not been to dentist yet, since my last treatment. Im missing all back teeth, not many left. My doctors never mentioned a dentist yet. I see my doctors next week. I was just wondering about the cheeks. Thanks

Just no dentist schedule yet. I saw a oral surgeon, he pullled my teeth. It was crazy.
