Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 6 | My husband was diagnosed with throat cancer early June. Surgery was declined for now as it would have been very devastating. He has since started chemo and radiation and has been doing well up till yesterday. He woke with a temperature and today the dr. put him on antibiotics. He has the mediport and a feeding tube altho he can still eat by mouth. His cancer encircled his throat and in both lymph nodes and left tonsil. The tumor on tonsil has already shrunk away and lymph nodes are getting smaller. He is 74 yrs old and never smoked. It has been a very scarey time for us.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
