My husband was diagnosed with throat cancer early June. Surgery was declined for now as it would have been very devastating. He has since started chemo and radiation and has been doing well up till yesterday. He woke with a temperature and today the dr. put him on antibiotics. He has the mediport and a feeding tube altho he can still eat by mouth.
His cancer encircled his throat and in both lymph nodes and left tonsil. The tumor on tonsil has already shrunk away and lymph nodes are getting smaller. He is 74 yrs old and never smoked. It has been a very scarey time for us.

Hello Sylvia, Sorry that you have had this enter your life. We are happy to help in any way. Feel free to ask questions as they come up.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

Welcome Sylvia

Hopefully the support you find here will help you and your husband cope with his cancer. I found that the more info I had, the lesser the fear.

Love from Helen

The worst has happened, my husband went into cardiac arrest early Wednesday morning after battleing a fever for two days and he has died.
The doctor had put him on an anitbiotic on Tuesday, but to no avail.
My heart is broken, he had been doing so well, now this. I don't understand how it happened.
Please pray for us

Sylvia this is exactly the way my late husband passed. As soon as his chemo was over he had a heart attack. He was 56. frown

I pray that our Lord will give you peace and comfort at this time and that you will find hope in His blessed promise of eternal life.

May God bless you,
Barbara~

Sylvia,

I, too, was away on vacation and was saddened to read your post while catching up on what I missed during the two weeks I was away.

My heart goes out to you and your family and I hope that you will somehow find the strength to get through this terrible time.

Jerry
