Hi

I went to the oral surgeon who checked my concerns over my tongue tonsils etc...all well and good. This was a relief until he checked the left floor of my mouth which he had biopsied nine months ago and there was another ulcer. I dont think to be honest that the hole from the old biopsy was ever gone completely there was always a kind of crater there, blue red from the blood vessels underneath. I just cant believe hes going to biopsy again. Guess im just hoping the top came of the crater and its just a normal biopsy. The surgeon specialises in oncology and i dont see how his biopsy could have been wrong??? Anyone else had a biopsy of that area? Xxx

NO... I haven't but someone else here surely has. And it could very well be slow healing. I would ask for a tube of cortaid. keep the area clean... wash and rinse your mouth after each meal, then apply the cortaid. it helps heal. (do this once he has finished the biopsy). hopefully it will heal - but do keep an eye on it and if it doesn't get better in a timely manner, go back to see him.

re biopsy results. They are a tricky thing. It all depends on the amount of tissue take and the location, it also depends on the pathologist looking at it. I had two negatives before a positive. My tumor was deeper into my tongue. Hopefully it's nothing.
hugs.

Thanks Cheryl for your sound advice. I appreciate your response. I think its amazing what strength and courage you and others on here have. And it just shows the heights of human spirit when people come together to support each other. What you have been through and that you are happy to give support to others that are having biopsies etc...and even those that just have concerns. Thanks Cheryl xxx

Even a small concern is important, worry affects our health and overall mental health... knowing you are okay is like a shot of adrenaline. ;o) The best way to do that is to deal with the problem at hand and move on. Hugs and good luck... hopefully you are clean and clear.
