Idk but it has been making me anxious for a while especially that my grandmother has died of oral cancer. I'm still young, and I don't have any of the other risk factors, and I don't want to go get it checked up because I think I'm just exaggerating things... Could it be SCC? | | | | Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | Only a doctor can tell you if it's cancer or not, and really only with a biopsy is it confirmed 100%. Usually it's some other condition, out of hundreds, and or can br a pre-cancerous condition, so the right thing to do is to be examined, usually by an ENT, ear, nose, throat surgeon, and or your primary doctor, depending on your insurance protocol, and no one will say your exaggerating, if your symptoms exist more than 3 weeks. If they do, find another doctor. Good luck

Please do go to an ENT directly of via referral from your primary. It is NOT going to be viewed as some crazy concern. Plus you will feel a lot better knowing what it is and getting it resolved as it has not resolved itself.

If the sore has been on your mouth for 2 weeks or longer then it should be checked by an professional (ENT or oral surgeon).
