You are right, there is lots to be happy about, especially the no pain part. it is no fun once that hits.
Take care.

A few weeks into treatment I noticed I had gained a little belly even though my weight was the same as when I started. My arms and legs most notably have lost muscle.
Last week when I went for a very short run my legs were completely worn out. After less than two miles. Before starting treatment I had run a 10k. So in a span of 6 weeks I've gotten completely out of shape.
I'm no expert on diet/metabolism, but I have lost muscle and added fat. Kind of an anti fitness program. Maybe the reduced activity and greater calorie demand from cancer treatment drives this. Or maybe a side effect of the treatment itself.

Belly has stopped getting smaller after losing about half of it over first 3 weeks of treatment. A bridge partner touched my shoulder the other day and said, you are getting downright boney. So, I guess the muscle mass is decreasing as everyone says.
Now as for being completely out of shape and only able to run two miles. It will come back, you know it will.
Getting through this, one bottle of Ensure at a time. I'm so tired of the taste of cardboard.

I'm with you on the distorted taste. It's almost an adventure to know how something should taste and experience what it tastes like now.
Best of luck to you. Onward and upward.
