Today's the day for my surgury. Due to be at hospital at 11 boy this is awful waiting. Will do full mouth extraction, tonsil out, and radical neck dessection. Keep me in thoughts and prayers today. Will be back soon. Scared to death.

Hi Donna,
Read this today at lunch which was too late to tell you it will be all ok. Been sending good vibes all day. You should be in recovery by now in ICU for 24. Remember when they toss you out of bed for exercise, you should support the arm on the side of the neck dissection by placing your hand under the elbow. You do not want to promote a drag on that shoulder too soon. While I doubt you will read this, hoping someone in your family does. You will need PT within a week or so after being discharged.

Your are in all our thoughts. Stay positive.

Take care,
Eileen

Donna, missed your post yesterday. Sorry. But you were already in my prayers, so good vibes went your way the night before and after. Hang in there as this too shall pass. One of the good things about this disease is it will give you a contrast between good and bad days. Anticipate the good days and get through the bad so as to experience the good on the other side. God bless.

Sending good thoughts your way Donna!!! As you start your treatment remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. It will take time but you will feel better as time goes by. Please post any questions you have and someone with similer treatments will respond. All my best to you and your family.

Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts. I made it through surgury fine but the results are not good. They got all my teeth, tonsil and removed app. 50 lymph nodes that all came back posivitive. The neck muscle and nerve. The next day they also gave me the diag. of breast cancer on the right this was all on the left. They said it was early and did a mastectomy on the 11th of this month trying to recover from that also now. I get those drain tubes and staples out tom. I had the neck disection Monday the 28th and was up the 29th and walking they pulled the drain tube and let me go home that Friday after they did a sterotatec biopsey on right breast. I feel like have been run over by a truck emotionally and just pray something will work. Will met with radiologist for the first time Thursday and the oncologist Friday. Just have such feelings of doom. Did very well at home after 1st surgury but now just wonder if I can beat all this. Sorry to keep rambling but feel so often as was just sent home so fast, as had told family before path report would probly be there 10 days, if had been sent home to die and was so scared would not wake from 2nd surgury but I'm here so maybe there is hope keep trying to tell myself can beat this.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers

Donna
