So far there are well over 500 registered for the walk. There are several OCF members who live in this area who will be coming out to support this event. I know 5 friends in this area who will be attending. If you will be attending please let me know so we can make plans to meet. I will be the featured speaker at the Chicago walk.
Its very important for survivors and caregivers to attend these functions. It helps to educate the dental/medical community of what OC survivors go thru. It shows the general public the importance of early detection and allows them to get a proper OC screening.
Please take some time out of your busy schedule to attend an event in your area. You can even host your own walk to help spread awareness of this horrible disease. For more info PM me or Susan Lauria.

The weather was perfect, but of course it was windy. There was a nice turn out of survivors.
The volunteers put in so much time and energy to pull off this event. If anyone is anywhere near any of the upcoming fall walk, PLEASE make it a point to stop out and join in. The event is free to oral cancer survivors and you will even get a tshirt if you preregister before their cut off date. There are several walks coming up Seattle, Andover, NJ, Bethlehem PA, Houston, Boston, and Ohio. Please check the link in Susan's post to find a walk near you.
I will be speaking at the Seattle walk next Saturday. Then the following Saturday, I will be attending Susan Lauria's NJ walk. Please join me if you live near these locations.
