Crossen Cancer Center is what is offered at St. Judes in Fullerton where my Dad see's his oncologist. None of the treatment he has received seems to be the average from what I see. Everyone I talked to says the same thing that you do. They were assigned specialists, dietician's and given follow up all through their cancer treatments ect. But my Father was not given any of this. I thought it was because they were sure it was not cancer until they opened his neck. I could understand that they didn't know until that point, but nothing was done after that either. I called his Doctor and requested a referrel to a SLP study and he is hesitant to give it to me. Why? he acts like we need to accept that my Dad is dying and give it all up and just sit and wait for him to pass on? Did you experience anything like this? | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Here is a list of CCC's. Studies have been done regarding patients who go to CCC's vs other treatment centers. They have found patients do better when they are treated by the country's top doctors who are more familiar with treating 100s of cancer patients. List of Cancer Centers If there are CCCs you want to go to, there are free flights thru different organizations and free lodging as well. But its up to you whatever you choose to do. I know you said your father is not an oral cancer patient so its not easy for me to give any advice. The top CCCs have different specialties so take some time to review the list and maybe something will work for your fathers situation. Good luck!!! PS..... Please take a few minutes to read and review the link I sent you thru a PM.
