I will once again thank everyone for imparting into my life and assisting me in preparation (Phase I). How lost I would be in trying to figure this out on my own. So now Phase II has commenced undergoing weekly Chemo and daily Rad TX. Today was day one. Radiation at 8 this morning. Tomorrow is Erbitux and radiation day 2.
Age 55 HPV 16+ SCC, BOT 050613 Stage IV

8 weeks of chemo started May 28
RTOG Phase III trial Cetuximab group.
Treatment completed 7/16/2013
PET Scan completed 10/08/13

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | Good luck. I had Erbitux my last treatment. Just a question, 1 week loading dose, 6 weeks during radiation, but your signature says 8 weeks. Are they adding a week at the end, after rads finished. Just curious. I'm seeing extended treatments lately with Erbitux. My RO asked my last day if I was getting more treatments? My MO didn't mention, I didn't ask, and got out of there lol. I was away from home at Hope anyway for two months. It was tough by yourself, and during the hurricane. I hope you have help.

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | Thanks. Radiation keeps working just as long as your treatment was, so that may be a factor too to use as a radio sensitizer. I had 6 weeks with 5 weeks radiation, none after.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Eat as much as you can, while you can and do what you can to prepare. Forewarned is forearmed. You may not need everything you put in place, but you will be happy it's there if you do. HUGS and march on...
