So sorry to hear of your experience. Sounds just awful :-( I am fortunate to be much better and am healing well now, just a few days later. The tongue does hv remarkable ability to heal quickly. But your issues I know r different having had ND also, and Trach. Pls hang in there; u sound very strong! You will get through this. Pls keep in touch w update and I will as well.

PET in 3-4 months but no clinical cancer and I'll take it!

On your speech, it will improve a lot with speech therapy. I lost 50%+ of mine, and had a forearm graft. People never know when talking to me now and even my family can only hear slight distortions. I tell people I sounded like Elmer Fudd with a lisp for a while...
I put in the work and the time, and it paid off, and I'm sure it will for you as well, as it already sounds like you are well on your way.
