DX Dec '10 SCC BOT T4aN2bM0 HPV+ve.Cisplatin x3 35 IMRT.
PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!

Julieann Nov 2007 SCC on right tonsil following tonsillectomy. Was smoker, QUIT. (Stage IV T2 N2b) 7 weeks radiation one day/wk chemo (carboplatin and 5-FU). Allergic to Taxol; PEG in, lost 30 lbs. Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 126 | Hi guys, I just wanted to provide a recent update regarding the painless lump. 3 months since my CT scan, the lump was still there. My doctor felt that although it didn't show up as cancer in the scan, it was best to remove it and biopsy it since it never went away. I had my biopsy on Friday, and got the results today - not cancer . This confirmed what we already thought, but was good to have that added confirmation. The doctor and pathologist believe it was something called fatty necrosis (i believe), which most likely resulted from my radiation. Anyway - just wanted to share in case anyone else experiences anything similar!
