I really appreciate you folks and wish I could keep my mind off my own poop long enough to REALLY thank you! I started Alimpta last week and will take once every 3 weeks, and (re)started Erbitux this week (yesterday, and BOY! it hit me hard today!) Will take Erb wkly and we'll see what happens. I'm thinking seriously of getting a second opinion from Northside Hospital (North Atlanta) as they seem to have a good cancer program, also. Had thought that Emory would be more proactive and cutting edge, but that doesn't really seem to be the case. Just wanted to say thanks and let ya'll know what's up! Gordon

I thought Emory University was cutting edge with Dr. Dong Moon Shin, who does a lot of research with EGFR inhibitors, and others. They say folate, B12 supplementation is given to counter some of the effects for Alimta, Pemetrexed. I don't know many who take this, usually for lung cancer, but sure others would like to know what's available, and more info can probably be obtained on lung cancer blogs. Good luck with everything.
