Stacie,
Once your husband has finished his treatment if you want to consider making a change to a major NCI cancer center here is some info to help you. I know you mentioned Moffitt was too far for you to travel. In the future if you wanted to go to Moffitt, there are places which will give free or very deeply discounted lodging for cancer patients. When I say deeply discounted its like $10 a day and thats to help cover the cost of meals. I think one place that is set up near major cancer centers in several sites is called Hope Lodge.

Best wishes with his continuing treatments.

I stayed at Hope Lodge NYC for almost two months, for free. It's the best, and this facility was awesome, 60 rooms, all amenities, facilities, and one caregiver is allowed to stay with you. You have to be currently in treatment, live one hour away, and the hospital social worker makes the reservation for you. No compliants here.

I want to add that we are able to still stay whenever we are back in the cities for appointments. With a 3 hour drive it really was a blessing to be there throughout treatment and all appointments before and after treatment. At first we thought we would have to rent an apartment for 7 weeks. It is a wonderful place to stay, we met a lot of great people, those that worked there and those that were dealing with cancer.
