Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 51 | I haven't been on the website in a while. Paul finished his 35 radiation treatments and we thought he was on his way to recovery. Then on Wednesday, he had passed away in his sleep. I want to thank all of you for your support throughout his illness. I was one of the fortunate ones to have found your website as soon as he was diagnosed and continually benefited from all the useful information you provided. God bless you all as you go through your treatments and recovery.

Sorry to hear this news especially since Paul was only diagnosed in September. How terribly unfair to go through all the treatments and then this. All I can think to say are what I heard the priest saying for my brother, mother and father: Requiescat in Pace,

It is incredibly hard to process a sudden death even though they were all along fighting for their lives. Please feel freem to PM me if you need someone to "talk" to.

DX Dec '10 SCC BOT T4aN2bM0 HPV+ve.Cisplatin x3 35 IMRT.
PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
