Shauneen, I too have fallen into that briar patch, as have many others. To be honest, Charm's response was almost downright "charming" compared to some previous posts...:) But he's right. In my opinion, your comment to Christine that the Quackwatch link she posted would need to be deleted somehow falls into the hoax link category is not rendered funny by adding an emoticon. Christine's response and that Quackwatch link assumed that you would want to avoid passing on bogus treatments and false hopes. Had Christine left your link in your post, it gets picked up by spiders and then when this bogus treatment is searched by Google, one of the results that appears would be your post (with the offending link) and the OCF forum URL, implying validity.
The hard work and effort the administrators put into keeping this forum free of all the quack remedies that pollute the other forms deserves appreciation. Now my posts often deserve emoticon responses and posts as snarky as my own, but Christine's did not.
