The basics of it: I wish you the very best results in your upcoming scan. I have mine coming up on the 22nd. Maybe our OCF-friend-power will have a positive influence on the results...lol!

L partial gloss/MND 3/28/11 @ 25 wks preg
T1-2N0M0; no rads/chemo
Tonsillectomy on 8/6/12 +SCC L tonsil T2-3N1M0 (HPV-)
Treated with 35 rads/7 carbo & taxol (Rx ended 10/31/12), but many hospitalizations d/t complications from rx.
Various scans since rx ended are NED!
Part of genetic study for rare cancers @ MGH.
44 years old now...I wasn't sure I would make it! Hoping for 40 more!

Brother 49yo DX 22/6/11 Tonsil SCC HPV+ Stage IV T4N1(?)M0. Carbo/docetaxel (Taxotere)19/7, 11/8 (with E-tux), 1/9; E-tux 11/8, 25/8, 15/9, 30/9, 14/10, 28/10; IMRT X 35 (70gy tumour;63gy nodes;56gy gen area) 19/9-4/11/11. Clear PET scan 1/2/12. 1 and 2 year post treatment checks good.

Actually this MRI was more pleasant than usual with no traffic or parking hassles since it was a Sunday plus they had headphones to play local radio stations in addition to the ear plugs . Kept busy today so as not to worry and, made two more really cool ladder yarn necklaces. Bev showed me how. I'm going to give them to the radiology office manager and the patient advocate, two women who have been very helpful the last five years. I made one for my ENT and she loved it. Bev can make them in a half hour but it takes me two hours. Here is a link to a tutorial. We leave 12 inches instead of nine and use 3 yards instead of 2andhalf, but otherwise it's the same. See even a tough old guy like me can get in touch with his more charming side (it's only 4 years to my 2017 deadline of being totally charming). Charm

Husband diagnosed Oct '11 Cancer of the vocal cord Nov '11 removed right vocal cord. Neck Dissection, cancer in one node, .2, very small & contained) Jan '12 Radiation and Cisplatin, 6 doses. June '12 & Dec '12 clear Pet scan. April '13 Celebrating 1 year cancer free since treatment ended.

Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
