Chemo/rad on hold due to clear margins and nodes
Sept 21/13 clear CT with anomaly thought to be the artery, being watched closely.
Dec 16/13 - anomaly confirmed artery, all clear

Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 45 | 5 more rad treatments left. This is tough but when I need a lift I come here and it gives me hope and staying power. What also has really has helped me is this little steroid dexamethasone (4mg )pill. It seems to reduce the swelling from the radiation if only for a day. If I don't take it I am miserable,can't swallow,persistent pain.
I don't know exactly what it does but they gave it to me after chemo treatment for nausea. What ever i need to get through this is my new motto. New more hero here.

DX Dec '10 SCC BOT T4aN2bM0 HPV+ve.Cisplatin x3 35 IMRT.
PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
