Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 5 | My sister, Shirley, needs an Obturator. She had a Maxillectomy on 9/11/12 for ACC of hard palate and lymph nodes. Radiation is to start in 2 weeks. Does Medicare EVER pay for the device? She has a secondary policy but if Medicare doesn't pay...they don't either. Thank you, Sandra, her CG and sister

Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 131 | You know it's so difficult for you over in America with the obturator I feel very lucky I haven't had the worry of payment for mine. I would say the same as Christine ring and find out. The obturator if like mine is essential for me to talk drink and eat! I can't see why it would not be covered.
