Leena,

Congratulations on your achievement! Pretty soon your taste will improve and everything will go from nothing to cardboard.

I learned to make cranes at 4 years old and all through school I made little blow up balls to play with in all sizes. Halloween 2000 my mother made piles of all kinds of things to give to the children with candy. They were all ooing and ahhing all the way back to their parents.

When I was 5 I only spoke Japanese and could not go to kindergarten when we moved back to the US in 1961. My mother used to go to grade schools and teach oragami. She put a (dog) harness on me and tied me to the doorknob while she taught. I still jump up and bark for treats. laugh

You'll be eating ham way before Christmas!

Leena,

Congrats on eating "real" food! I know just how big a victory that is. Although I've been out of treatment (total glossectomy, chemo and 37 rad treatments) for 7 months, I just began eating solid food. I'm able to get down one small meal a day supplemented with liquid nutrition. It's not an easy task - takes a lot of determination, patience and practice but I'm doing it! So I believe you'll be eating that Christmas ham and mashed potatoes before the Christmas season is upon us! Keep up the good work.

Hugs, Nancy
