I went to my dentist today and he was very concerned and sent me right to the oral surgon. the oral sergon said he cant tell me anything for sure, but wanted me to start with a prescripton that he hopes will take it away. If it does not he is going to do the biopsy Nov. 5th - wasn't the worst news, nor the best!! | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,264 Likes: 5 "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,264 Likes: 5 | Keepsake where in Canada are you?

A spud islander. My aunt and uncle live in souris, and I have a home in fortune (live in TO) I am also related to a whole bunch of people there. Macphee, mckinnons, MacDonald, Longaphie It's such a small place and people there are great so you should get personalized attention from your drs. At least - my only concern is if it I cancer ( praying it's not ) that you might want to see treatment in Halifax or somewhere else - not sure how much OC they see. Let us know what happens - and do some research while waiting - see who's considered best in his/ her field in your neck of the woods. Hugs!!

Small world, i know loads of poeple with those last names so it is possible that we know some common islanders. I had a very rough night last night. I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep all night, so I went to the hospital today, my pulse was 185!!!!! (normally 85) and i was having trouble breathing. I was hooked up to all the heart machines, and everytime i would dose off, my lips would go blue and the O2 sats machine would alarm. On top all that Turns out that i don't have the infection that the oral surgeon said he thought i might, beacuse the meds only made the pain worse!!The doctor i seen today at the hospital told me to stop taking it, and gave me a steroid cream for the pain. He also made me an appointment with the ENT (turns out we do have one) and the ENT is going to do the biopsy at my appointment, so fingers crossed i'll know whats going on soon!! | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 805 "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) | "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 805 | Not a good way to get there, but sounds like you are now on the right track! Keep us posted! Kathy

Definitely have it checked - biopsied, and silo glad you're being seen by an ENT hugs and luck to you.

I was prescribed steroids after a neg biopsy, but all they did was make me drool. So much so, that I had to stuff paper towels in my mouth to try and control it. I sure hope the steroids work for you, just saying that they sure didn't for me. If you start to drool like crazy - go to emerg again. Best of hope for you. Again - please let us know what happens
