Not that this has anything to do with the above except the chills, but have you had your TSH levels checked recently as the chills could be from hypothyrodism which is a common side effect from our radiation Tx.

I moved your post to its own thread so it does not take away from the original posters question.

I would suggest going to your doctor right away. This is not normal and needs medical attention. I dont think your current problem has anything to do with your previous treatments, but it could. Sorry but we are not medical professionals so have little knowledge of kidney issues.

Best wishes!!!

Hi Teacher John

You will need to go to a doctor and get checked out.

Fever and blood in urine is normally a sign of infection - rather than cancer. A bladder or kidney infection can make you feel very, very unwell but it is treatable with antibiotics and medicines manage the burning you may be feeling.

It also sounds like a kidney stone. They pass through the urine but the big ones can be painful for men and cause pink urine. It is also benign and not cancer.

Either way, you will need a doctor for treatment - they are unlikely to go away by themselves and often get worse than they need to be if left untreated.

It is also very important that you take ALL of your antibiotics, even if the "pressure" and pinkness goes away.

Hi Kio
Thanks so Much for your comments, yes I went to local hospital they said a bowl or kidney infection, as the chils lasted 12 hours and blood once, but speaking to a friend here, he said he have pink red blood urine with small clots, and it was kidney cancer, he had it taken out 2 years ago and no problems so far apart from enlarge prostate, that he now had an operation for ?

So it look as though I have to go back to the cancer hospital where they treated me the first time, trouble is now I'm just a poor teacher living in Thailand which I love, only place i can get work at my age, my wonderful brother saved my life last time, I don't think he wil do it again, as I can't get medical insurance here now, after 66 I'm 68 and im still paying off the last bill, so I hope your right?

I was told 2 years ago, I had a 6 cm gall stone, dose that make the same blood in urine?

Hi John

How are you going now?

to answer your question regarding your gall stone - usually first sign of trouble is pain in lower right side of abdomen or back - usually in the middle of the night which is alleviated by staying upright. Some people turn yellow too. The gall bladder is more connected to the liver system than the kidneys so I cant see how it would cause pink urine...although remember that I am not a doctor and just stating my opinion.

6cm is awfully big - like golf ball size! Maybe it was 6mm which is still a respectable size and can cause all sorts of pain and grief. Although not usually life threatening, it certainly feels like you must be dying when the pain hits in the middle of the night! I will never forget the night I was called in to assist a friend many years ago, who was literally writhing on the floor with the pain!!

Just because a friend had something similar and it was cancer doesnt mean you have cancer. Please get yourself checked thoroughly. Blood in the urine is fairly common with a bladder infection. Same goes for kidney stones, both can be painful.

So good of you to take the trouble to continue to answer both of you, it's looking more like I passed a kidney stone, chivers and pink blood in urine, altogether lasting 12 hours?

The professor did not seem at all concerned, saying at my Age these things happen, but instead if a lot of invasive tests, he has me on observation, he said if its anything sinister, it will happen again soon, so as I have to pay for all my treatment now, I was very relived in some way even. Would like to know for certain, he will exray in a month if I have any other symptoms?

So watch this space, see what the future brings, if I have one smile

John's doctor said
saying at my Age these things happen
That's probably true, but still annoying to hear! Best wishes and let us know how you are doing.
