Not meant to burden or scare you, but my Dad's ENT missed his base of tongue tumor repeatedly. It's a similar cancer to Michael Douglas's who had the same experience.
Beth--and others: Not all ENTs are created alike OR have the same experience/high tech equipment to spot things. (This goes for dentists as well, it is GREAT to have the OC exam but they are not all OC trained or experts.) *IF* you do not get to a concrete answer and plan immediately, consider a Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) evaluation which has made the difference in several of my OCF boardie's lives.
Trust all will be fine!

ENT did lots of inconclusive tests including USG Needle biopsy twice and finally excision biospy, which also came negative. It eventually turned out to be a rare disease for this part of the world. Its been 4 years since then and she's has been all well.
I would suggest changing the doctor. I hope your son is doing Salt water gargle atleast 4 times a day!

Dentist found probable squamous cell carcinoma behind my son's impacted wisdom tooth. He goes back this week for a recheck and referral to a specialist.

We did have another member who was 18 at DX. His cancer was very aggressive and a week into radiation they found it had jumped to nodes on the other side. The rewrote his plan to include both sides and he's doing great three years out. Just got married a few weeks ago.
