This may not apply to everyone, but when my son couldn't speak and the nice attentive nurse asked him if there was anything else he needed he typed this in big letters on his laptop:

What's the phone number of the cute nurse that was just in here?

My Trach (Tracheostomy) tube needs suctioning NOW!!!!!
Days later I wrote this.....
Please show me how to suction the trach tube for myself.

This is way up there in my memory of trying to communicate that I felt that I could no longer breathe and felt like I was drowning.
Once I resorted to letting something drop to the floor from my tray to get attention!!
The app is a wonderful idea.

That is a good one, Gabriele! - And good idea to drop something noisy to get attention. Maybe that "talk-for-me" phrase could be followed by a very loud, annoying siren type of attention getting sound.

And how about:

FIRE!! People usually get curious when you yell "FIRE"

How about having some of the fun phrases done in voices of some famous people - like Darth Vader- George Bush, etc. My son used to do a really good imitation of George Bush when he worked at Target to announce specials over the intercom. . . .i.e. (Nope, Not gonna do it) or that nice sexy lady on Modern Family. I forget her name but her last name starts with a "V" and sounds like Viagra. Also Tyler Perry's Madea. I would buy that app for the famous voices alone.

Listen closer to what I say
Don't bump my stomache, it' has a feeding tube
Don't sit on my lap you might open the block on ths tube
I need a mask to mow grass and weedeat
Don't put nail polish on near me
Stay away from flying insects, might go in my mouth
No I can't close my mouth, no jaw bone
Oral Cancer here but what is your excuse for looking funny?
Yes this is how I look for life.
Quit being an ass with me
Kiss what I sit on

You have a 90 MPH mouth and a 2 MPH brain
Think before you ask stupid questions
God did make some strange people, namely you
Your brain in a thimble is like a BB in a boxcar
