Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 440 | Any one ever have a tooth extracted and not have HBO dives? I went to see an oral surgeon today about a tooth that has a big area of decay and it will end up needing to be extracted but he mentioned doing something called prp, platelet rich Plasma therapy instead of HBO dives.
Anyone ever heard of this?

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | I read, and was told by an Oral Surgeon, RO that before any teeth are extracted you will need HBO befor, and after the procedure to preven ONJ, if you had RT. I had a tooth abscess and did 30 dives, 20 were supposed to be before, and 10 following, but I never went for an extraction due to other medical issues. Not all dentists may know about RT, since mine just sent me to hsv it removed, but knew otherwise. Good luck.
