Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 476 | Yeah - good news is good news. I lost my mom almost 5 years ago to pancreatic cancer. My parents have a golden retriever named Abby. She just turned 13 years old last week. My dad is 82 years old and my parents were married for 56 years. Dad is so sad and lost without my mom and Abby is the main reason he gets out of bed every day. She is getting old and slowing down and we really hope she still has a few good years left. Dad would be lost without her.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 945 | The pathology reporting got back early � the swelling is a lipoma � a non-malignant fatty tumor. They were able to remove about 70% of it in the biopsy. The doctor expects the surgical swelling to begin reducing in a day or two, and the flappy throat skin (currently making a truly appalling noise when she pants) to tighten up in a week to ten days.
With a little luck, the work they did on her should keep her breathing more easily for a while without any more procedures. Thanks for all of your support and understanding!
