These recent symptoms are what really have me concerned. I even ordered one of those e-cigs last week to help me quit smoking. | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | I hope whats going on turns out to be nothing serious. I also hope you can get rid of your tobacco habit. You do NOT want to go thru what the survivors here have. Take this opportunity to turn your health around by removing the irritant, tobacco. Im a former smoker so I know how difficult quitting can be. Your future good health can depend on your choice of to smoke or not to smoke.

I appreciate your advice and your courage to share your personal experiences. My e-cig should be here this week, so *hopefully* this will be my last pack of cigarettes. It has been very hard for me, this time, and is my 4th cancer. First one, radiation, and surgery on the others. If you still smoke, quit. And if you don't get a good answer, go to another head and neck surgeon. I have been misdiagnosed twice, and I knew I had cancer, so I just went to another Dr. I don't mess around anymore. I wish you the best. Jean

I study mortuary science and the school I attend has a very intense, difficult program and that seemed to trigger me to smoke excessively. Even thinking about school would cause me to smoke. Actually, prior to starting school I had quit cigarettes for 3 years. I didn't even TRY to quit, I just stopped out of the blue one day. Also, I did make an appointment with an oral surgeon. I have an appointment for a biopsy on Tuesday the 26th. So, please keep your fingers crossed!! Good job with your quitting tobacco. Best part of it is that you have hit the 3 day mark which means the nicotine is out of your body. At least thats what Ive been told, after 72 hours your body doesnt need it anymore, its all in your head. PLEASE keep trying to avoid cigarettes. It really could make a huge difference in such a promising future.
